On February 14, 2024, Jeremy Shook and Bob Murray prevailed before the Missouri Supreme Court in their defense of the St. Louis County Assessor in more than 2,600 commercial property tax appeals.  The property owners sought millions of dollars in tax refunds, contending that their property assessments were discriminatory compared to other commercial properties in St. Louis County.  Mr. Shook and Mr. Murray first succeeded before the Missouri State Tax Commission which ruled that the Assessor did not discriminate against the property owners.  The Missouri Supreme Court affirmed the Commission’s decision.  In addition, it is noteworthy that Mr. Shook and Mr. Murray persuaded the Missouri Supreme Court to overrule a 2015 Missouri Court of Appeals decision upon which the property owners primarily based their claims.
