David Castleman has extensive complex litigation experience in federal and state courts and before arbitrators regarding a wide array of subjects, including commercial contracts, business separation, employment disputes, consulting agreements, insurance coverage actions and franchise disputes.
The depth and breadth of Mr. Castleman’s experience enables him to provide high quality legal analysis and advice to clients and assist them in avoiding or efficiently resolving disputes. In many cases, he has obtained summary judgment or dismissal in his clients’ favor, including in a multi-million dollar construction lawsuit against a public school district and in an employment discrimination lawsuit against a mass public transit company.
Mr. Castleman also has successfully briefed and argued numerous appeals in the Missouri Court of Appeals and in the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Castleman’s non-litigation practice includes providing legal counseling to employers and business owners regarding employment decisions and employee policies. He also advises clients regarding real estate and intellectual property matters.
Mr. Castleman has served as President of the St. Louis Regional Alumni Council of the Valparaiso University School of Law and as an officer on his church congregation’s council.
He has also coached youth basketball, soccer and volleyball teams and participates in volunteer programs through various non-profit organizations including Concordia-Kirkwood Lutheran Church, Hands-On Kirkwood, and Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing tennis.
